Visits

Visits are allowed between 11am and 8pm.  At 9pm, the Hospital closes its doors until the morning. In the best interest of patients, group visits or long visits are to be avoided.
Visitors must leave the room while the patient is given medical care and treatment.  They are requested to go to the lounge areas available on each floor.
Children are only allowed to visit certain patients with the Consultant’s agreement.
In the post operational care unit, patients are only allowed one visitor at a time for a maximum period of 15 minutes.  Visiting hours in these units are restricted from 2am to 6pm and visitors should comply with the regulations in force.

Car Parking and vehicles

Vehicles belonging to patients, visitors and accompanying parents can be parked in designated areas.  Please make sure you don’t park on reserved or no parking areas.  Car parks are unsupervised.  The Hospital is not liable for any theft or damage occurring to parked vehicles.  You are advised not to leave any valuables unattended in your car and requested to drive at very slow speed within the Hospital boundaries.

At your service

The Hospital can offer you the assistance of English, German, Spanish, Arabic and Portuguese speaking members of staff.

  • ACCOMPANYING PARENTS
  • In private rooms, a spare bed is available for a parent or friend wishing to stay overnight with the patient.
    If visitors wish to take their meals at the Hospital, a restaurant is available for
    them on the ground floor.

    Meals are served at the following times: 
    Breakfast: from 8am to 9pm.
    Lunch: from12am to 1.30pm
    Dinner is served at the same time as the patient’s, in the patient’s room, from
    6.30pm to 7pm.

    Meal vouchers must be obtained at reception in order to eat in.
    The extra costs so incurred will appear on the patient’s invoice; tariffs are
    displayed in the entrance hall on the ground floor.
    Accompanying relatives and friends are only accepted on the basis that they
    comply with the nurses’ and the doctors’ requests and to respect the general
    rules and regulations of the hospital.
    Snacks and hot and cold drinks are provided by vending machines located in
    the reception area and in the out-patients waiting room.

  • OUR MEDICAL STAFF
  • Our medical staff will give you round the clock care and attention.  Each member of staff displays his/her first name, name and function on their uniform. Nurses (I.D.E.) wear a white outfit with a blue collar, Medical Assistants (A.S.) wear white with a green collar, catering staff (A.S.H.) have a white uniform and a yellow collar

  • A consulting psychologist is available on appointment.

  • VOLUNTARY VISITORS SERVICE
  • Voluntary lay visitors can on request visit patients every Thursday (VMEH).
    Visits from local Catholic Church members take place every Tuesday.
    Pallia-Plus Association will meet cancer patients on request.
    The Anti-Cancer League holds its surgery on Tuesday mornings and Friday afternoons on the ground floor.

  • PRIVATE ROOMS
  • You can have the benefit of a private room either through your mutual benefit insurance or top-up insurance which will cover the extra cost of a private room or by paying for the additional costs on leaving the hospital. Private rooms are subjected to availability.

  • Private room fees
    Category A room (for members of UCCMG):       58.00€
    Category B room (for members of UCCMG):       70.00€
    (A lump sum amounting to the cost of one day in a private room is added to the invoice and paid for by the UCCMG).
    For other mutual benefit insurances (the day of discharge is not charged):
    Category C:  42.92€
    Category D:  51.98€

  • Televisions are available throughout the hospital for a daily rental fee.
    We offer Canal + as well as the five public channels and a few satellite
    channels.

  • TELEPHONE
  • Your private telephone line will be connected as soon as you are admitted. To obtain a dialling tone, dial 0. You can give your friends and relatives your direct line number which is displayed next to the telephone plug. Phone calls are billed at the end of your stay and in accordance with decree n° 94-946 of 31/10/94. There are two paycard taxi-phones on the ground level and telephone-cards are for sale at reception.

  • Telephone fees
    In accordance with decree n° 94-946 of 31/10/94, the price charged for the connection of a private line and access to the terminal connecting to all French areas is 5.59 €. Each unit then re-invoiced to France Telecom is 0.19 €.

  • Toiletries and confectionery can be purchased in your room every afternoon except on Saturdays and Sundays.  Should you need a chiropodist, a hairdresser (Ladies and Gentlemen)
    or dry-cleaning, do not hesitate to ask your ward’s nursing staff.

  • Ask your nurse if you would like the assistance and support of a minister of your religion.
    The hospital’s Catholic Chaplain is available to patients on request.
